Privacy Policy
Aquilario (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Aquilario is an independent content & tools studio based in Mesa, AZ (USA). Contact: hello@aquilario.com.
Scope
This policy applies to aquilario.com and any pages we host on this domain (including forms and downloads). Third-party sites we link to have their own policies.
Information we collect
- Newsletter & lead forms (Netlify Forms/Substack): email address and any info you submit (e.g., name). Forms on our site are processed by Netlify; if you subscribe on Substack, your data is processed by Substack.
- Contact emails: anything you send to hello@aquilario.com.
- Payments (if/when available): We use Stripe. We do not store card numbers; Stripe processes payment data.
- Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-less service. It collects only aggregated usage metrics (e.g., page URL, referrer, device type, approximate location by country). No personal profiles, no cross-site tracking.
- Server logs & security: Our host (Netlify) may log IP addresses and user agents for basic operations and abuse prevention.
What we do not collect
- No account system on aquilario.com (no passwords).
- No behavioral ad tracking cookies.
- No sale of personal information.
How we use information
- To send you the resource you requested (e.g., a PDF checklist) and occasional related emails.
- To run our newsletter (only if you opted in).
- To reply to messages and provide support.
- To understand aggregated usage and improve our content and products.
- To maintain site reliability and security.
Affiliates, ads & outbound links
Some links may be affiliate links; if you purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We mark commercial outbound links with rel="sponsored"
and/or nofollow
where appropriate. Ads (if present) are labeled and separated from editorial content.
External news/RSS aggregation
We curate headlines from reputable third-party sources. Our RSS function fetches public feed data to display titles, snippets, and links on our site. We don’t collect personal data from those sources, and clicks take you directly to the publisher’s website (their policies apply).
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR/UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: consent (e.g., newsletter sign-ups, form submissions) and legitimate interests (e.g., security, low-impact analytics).
Sharing & processors
We don’t sell personal data. We use carefully-selected providers who process data on our behalf under their own security controls:
- Hosting & Forms: Netlify
- Analytics: Plausible
- Email/Newsletter: Substack (for subscribers who sign up there)
- Payments: Stripe (if/when used)
Retention
We keep data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. You can request deletion at any time.
Your choices & rights
- Unsubscribe using the link in any email.
- Access/Deletion/Correction requests: email hello@aquilario.com.
- If you’re in certain U.S. states (e.g., CA/VA/CO/CT/UT), you may have additional rights to access, delete, or opt-out of certain data sharing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
International transfers
We are U.S.-based. Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
Children
Our content is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method is 100% secure; please use caution online.
Do Not Track
Many browsers offer “Do Not Track.” Plausible does not use cookies or cross-site tracking, and we do not change our limited data collection when we receive DNT signals.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as our services evolve. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, if changes are material, provide a reasonable notice.
This page is provided for transparency and general information and is not legal advice.
